On Firday 24th January 2020 we will have a New Moon in Aquarius at 9.42pm, also know as the Dark Moon. This is the most fertile time to plant seeds for change & the perfect time to set intentions for the future.

Before you conjure up your New Moon intention list for the month ahead, it would be wise to meditatie & perhaps roll out the Yoga mat to release the stagnat dukka (bad energy) to help you to gain fresh perspective & insight. It’s better to avoid self-serving desires & instead work with the higher mind towards inclusive goal that will benefit others as well. Humanity is well starred to unite as never before in this Aqaurian Age; it’s healing for our heart & important for the revolution that we do our bit! So align with your higher mind & manifest the magic!

It’s best to burn your list at the time of the New Moon, but it is potent all day so don’t worry if you’re late.

Typical Aquarius traits

Although it has Aqua in it’s name, Aquarius is actually an air sign & represented by by the water bearer, the mystical healer who bestows water, or life, upon the land. Accordingly, Aquarius is the most humanitarian astrological sign.

These revolutionary thinkers fervently support “power to the people,” aspiring to change the world through radical social progress. Every Aquarian is a rebel at heart: These air signs despise authority and anything that represents conventionality. Free-spirited and eccentric, they can often be identified by their offbeat fashion sensibilities, unusual hobbies, and nonconformist attitude.

Aquarians are big thinkers, but mustn’t forget their immediate surroundings. These water bearers can become so focused on implementing widespread reform that they neglect their family and friends, gaining a reputation for being aloof and distant in relationships. Aquarians should remember that progress always starts on a micro level, advocating empathy and compassion wherever possible.

How We Create A Formulation

When Potions N Lotions sets out to create your formulation, we will ask you a few questions to begin with. Things such as, what is the final aim of this product? i.e. should it be anti-aging, suitable for extra sensitive skin etc…

Once finishing your consultation we will then move onto creating the mock formula, this involves us pulling out our recipe books & extensive research into ingredients that we have built up over a period of time from experimenting & creating a mock recipe for your formulation.

We will then create a physical version of the formulation & continue working on this until we are 100% happy with for the formulation ourselves.

Once we have created the ‘final’ formulation we will then create an intensive list of ingredients & their benefits, along with a basic price breakdown for wholesale costs, if you choose to buy your final product from us.

We will then send you the sample product for your feedback & see if there is any tweaks or changes you would like to make, as this is your product after all, we need you too think it is perfect & be exactly what you want.

Tweaks will be made, another sample product will be sent to yourself with the benefits of any added ingredients & we will keep doing this until we have the perfect formualtion.

After this we then move onto the next phase which is the assessment phase, this it what makes your product legal! Without this phase you will not be able to sell your product.

At Potions N Lotions we handle everything for you so you don’t have to worry about the extensive paperwork that comes along with a cosmetic assessment or the mindfield of uploading your product to the cosmetic portal.

After completeing the legal part you can also come back to us to get your wholesale product, where we can either send it to you in a bulk about for you to package or we can package & label everything for you, however you would like it to create a final sellable product for you.

Each time we make a batch of products we will set intentions as we make them & charge them with those intentions to give them extra healing powers. As well as cleansing our space before hand to make sure no negative energies are absorbed.

Then it is over to you to sell the product, but we will also share any before & after pictures that we have from our own trials with you & you will have a list of the key selling points of the product.

Full Moon

Tonight marks the first full moon of 2020! This year we actually have 13 full moons because we have Samhain moon which is on Halloween this year, which is pretty cool!

We are going to share some tips & tricks with you as to how you can make the most of the full moons energies, as well as sharing our full moon calendar with you.

Tonight will be the Wolf Moon at 7.21pm (UK time), other names for it are the Old Moon & Ice Moon. However the 2020 Wolf Moon is no ordinary one, this year it coincides with a “penumbral eclipse”.

There is a few things you can do to thrive off of the energies from the full moon:

Charge your crystals

Cleanse your crystals with sage, palo santo or even water (check that none of your crystals are water soluble) & place them in the moon light to charge with the full moon energies.

Charge your tools

Follow the steps above, but for the other tools you use in your practices.

Cleanse your space

You can cleanse your space, whether that’s your entire home, your bedroom, a special place in your home like your alter or work space with sage or palo santo.

Make some moon water

Moon water is great for doing spell work & even drinking yourself. Simply fill containers with water from your taps & leave them to charge in the moon light.

Do a full moon ritual

There are many different full moon rituals that you can carry out but here is one that we like to do ourselves.

  1. Create a sacred space.
  2. meditate & invision a whtie lgiht washing over you. filling you with joy & washing away any negativity.
  3. Light a candle & place two bowls infront of you, one filled with water.
  4. Write a letter with all the things you wish to let go.
  5. Light the paper with the candle & place into bowl to let it burn.
  6. Cleanse your hands with the bowl of water & sit in silence for 2-3 mins enjoying being free from unwanted things.

The full moon is a great time to get reaslly clear on your thoughts & there is nothing better than meditation to do that. You can do this is whatever way you feel works best for you.

Spell work

People do there own spell work in there own ways, there is no right & wrong but with the extra energy & power that the full moon brings, it is a great time to carry out any spell work you’d like to do.

Plant, dream, set intentions

Planting any herbs etc… getting clear on your dreams & setting your intentions is great to do under a full moon because again you can harness all those extra energies that surround the full moon.

It is ultiamtely thought to determined a person’s good or bad luck. A European belief held that the log had to catch fire on the first attempt to light it, otherwise all the people of the home would have bad luck. Another stated that the remains of a log must be kept for the following year’s ceremony for good luck, the ashes were sometimes stored under a bed in order to make a home immune to evil spirits and lightening strikes.
